Democrats call for John Bolton to testify in impeachment trial

Democrats have renewed their demand for US President Donald Trump’s former National Security Advisor John Bolton to be called to testify in the former’s ongoing impeachment trial, a media report said on Monday. The call comes following reports that Bolton made claims in an unpublished book that Trump wanted to freeze aid to Ukraine unless it investigated  former Vice President Joe Biden.

Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski has said that she was “disturbed” by her party’s stance before President Donald Trump’s impeachment trial, it was reported on Thursday. The Alaska Senator’s comments come after Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnellpledged “total co-ordination” with the White House, the BBC said in a report.    KTUU news channel said that she was uncomfortable with McConnell’s comments about “total co-ordination”.

United States President Donald Trump and his lawyers will not attend an impeachment hearing in the House of Representatives on Wednesday, The White House said in a letter here on Tuesday. The letter, published by Politico, accused the House committee of a “complete lack of due process and fundamental fairness” in the inquiry so invitation to attend on December 4 would fail.
