Maharashtra: 564 farmers committed suicide b/w Jan 1-Aug 26

As many as 564 distressed farmers from the backward Marathwada region allegedly committed suicide between January 1 and August 26,  Divisional Commissioner’s office sources said  . The highest of 131 farmers suicides were reported in drought-prone Beed district while the lowest of 24 took place in Hingoli district. Eighty-one cases each were reported in Aurangabad and Osmanabad,74– in Nanded , 65– in Jalna, 58 cases in Latur and 50 in Parbhani.
