Qatar to leave OPEC in New Year

Qatar on Monday announced that it would leave the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) from the start of the new year and concentrate on developing and raising its natural gas output to 110 million tonnes from 77 million tonnes a year.   Minister of State for Energy Affairs, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Petroleum (QP) Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi said on Monday.

A soldier and murder accused died in custody

A retired soldier, who was arrested on charges of allegedly murdering his wife, died while he was in police custody on Monday. Ashok Leyland sale in Nov down by 9 %

Commercial Vehicle Major, Ashok Leyland Ltd has reported a drop of 9 percent in its total sales for the month of November 2018 at 13121 units, as against 14457 units in November 2017. M&HCV sales was down 18 percent in November 2018 to 8718 units from 10638 units in November 2017. However, LCV sales was up 15 percent in November 2018 to 4403 units from 3819 units in November 2017.

Rupee slipped by 30 paise against greenback

The Rupee on Monday slipped by 30 paise to 69.89 against the greenback in early trade on rising demand for US Dollar by bankers and importers, dealers at the Forex Market said. The local unit recorded intra day high and low at 70.09 and 69.85 respectively.
The domestic unit fell due to strong dollar against world currencies, they added.

ED summons Robert Vadra on alleged illegal land deal case

Enforcement Directorate on Friday summoned Congress President   Robert Vadra in connection with a case involving land deals in the Kolayat area of Bikaner,   ED officials said  . ED had registered a criminal case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in September 2015. Man who robbed bengali star Rituparna nabbed by police

Odisha police has succeeded to arrest one Bodhisatwa Bhattacharya from Bhubaneswar who had allegedly robbed at the residence of Bengali actress Rituparna Sengupta of cash and valuables. The accused had lodged himself in a city hotel in Bhubaneswar who had also tried to blackmail Sengupta for further cash to return the valuables. ACP in Delhi commits suicide jumping from 10th floor of police head quarters

Man gets back lost wallet from a stranger with extra cash and a note ‘celebrate’

It was a rare gesture of magnanimity. A man who lost his wallet in Las Vegas bound flight was lucky to have got it back. The stranger who returned it urged him to ‘celebrate’ adding extra cash. The wallet had $60, a $400 paycheck and a debit card and ID. The stranger made it round for $100 and returned with the note.

Earth observation satellite HysIS launched by ISRO along with 30 others

It was a big go ahead as India’s earth observation satellite HysIS was launched by ISRO along with 30 other foreign satellites which includes 23 from the US. It was launched from the First Launch Pad of the Satish Dhawan Space Centre  and the satellites were carried by the workhorse rocket PSLV-C43. It was the 45th flight of the PSLV.
