Although the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained but the fire perhaps started when some cracker was being made. Police has started the probe into this illegally run cracker manufacturing unit.

Man who robbed bengali star Rituparna nabbed by police

Odisha police has succeeded to arrest one Bodhisatwa Bhattacharya from Bhubaneswar who had allegedly robbed at the residence of Bengali actress Rituparna Sengupta of cash and valuables. The accused had lodged himself in a city hotel in Bhubaneswar who had also tried to blackmail Sengupta for further cash to return the valuables. An ACP of the Delhi police, in a shocking incident, jumped from the 10th floor of the police head quarter in Delhi and committed suicide. The dead officer’s body was found in the porch of the building. It was a rare gesture of magnanimity. A man who lost his wallet in Las Vegas bound flight was lucky to have got it back. The stranger who returned it urged him to ‘celebrate’ adding extra cash. The wallet had $60, a $400 paycheck and a debit card and ID. The stranger made it round for $100 and returned with the note.

Earth observation satellite HysIS launched by ISRO along with 30 others

It was a big go ahead as India’s earth observation satellite HysIS was launched by ISRO along with 30 other foreign satellites which includes 23 from the US. It was launched from the First Launch Pad of the Satish Dhawan Space Centre  and the satellites were carried by the workhorse rocket PSLV-C43. It was the 45th flight of the PSLV.

UIDAI asserts against opt out option for Adhaar holders as suggested by apex court

Responding to an RTI query the UIDAI has asserted that the Adhaar card holder can lock his biometrics but may not opt out of it which was suggested by the Supreme court two months back.
