Bug in instagram may leak data accidentally

Reports say that there is an alert that Instagram using its means to inform it’s users about whose passwords were leaked. But that somehow keep the ones unaffected who were not informed. This might have happened in a kind of serious ‘security leak’ as the bug was tied to Instagram’s ‘download your data’ tool. Which happened in April last in wake of European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation.

1971 war hero Chandpuri passes away

Brigadier Kuldip Singh Chandpuri, the name and war-hero in the India
Pakistan 1971 war has died in Mohali on Saturday. Kuldip Singh who had
in fact inspired the making of the film ‘Border’ . Then a major in
1971 Kuldip Singh could not be budged from holding his post with just
120 men against afull-fledged Pakistani platton tanks. He was
decorated with Maha Vir Chakra.

Statue of Unity Visible From Space

According to tweet from the ‘Planet’ the commercial satellite the
Statue of Unity, is visible from space, The tweet showed a picture of
the statue which was clicked from the space on Nov 15 . The 182 metre
tall statue which is tallest in world was inaugurated in last October
by the prime minister Narendra Modi .

Farmer drove a burning tractor into lake to save houses

It was a great sport of a farmer who saved others in time risking his own life. He was driving a hay-loaded tractor in his village in Karnataka when it caught fire contacting an electric wire. With houses on either side he chose to drive into a lake to avert the danger of fire spreading into the houses in case.

First day winter session washed away by ruckus

Andhra CM’s no to CBI misuse by centre

Buguda lawyers demand arrest of cops

Maneka Gandhi urges Naveen for check on elephant deaths in Odisha

Union minister Maneka Gandhi has expressed deep concern over the frequent deaths of wild elephant in Odishas. In a letter to the chief minister Naveen Patnaik she  expressed shock that between 2011-2017 435 elephants died of which 124 died due to electrocution . There is a terrible lack of coordination between the concerned departments, the letter said and sought direct intervention of the chief minister.

In response to a petition filed by a non government organisation the Delhi high court on Wednesday has sought Center’s response on the plea for the removal of pictures or videos which are vulgar and sexually overt in the platforms like Amazon, Netflix and others. The online platforms give “vulgar, sexually explicit, pornographic and profane contents to attract subscribers.

Wine-struck woman spat on AI crew’s face

She was in a state of inebriation and did what never expected from any civilized person. The incident took place in an Air-India flight on board when a woman passenger took to verbal abuse and allegedly spat on a crew’s face when she was denied more wine. It happened on Saturday last on board a London-Mumbai flight and the incident was video recorded and was made available on Wednesday.

Lawyers’ strike called off after two and half months

After a prolonged agitation by the High Court lawyers protesting the physical assault on a lawyer the strike has been called off after the three police personnel tendered an unconditional apology in the High Court today. This was informed by the secretary of the Bar Association Srikant Nayak. From Thursday the lawyers will resume work.

Google radar on poll spending can bother politicians

‘Rename Nicobar Island’, Chandra Bose

Netaji kin Chandra Kumar Bose, now a BJP leader in West Bengal, has given a proposal through a letter to the prime minister that the name of Nicobar Island be renamed as ‘ Saheed & Swaraj’ islands as a mark of tribute to Netaji who was the ‘ first minister of India , had hoisted the national flag at Port Blair on December 30 1943’,  Bose said in his letter.

Zee Entertainment Enterprises is on the look out for a strategic partner to sale 50% stake of it’s equity in the company to a strategic partner. The move is aimed to address capital allocation to “pursue the disruptive technological development and transform the business into ‘tech-media company’, a statement said.

Binny Bansal quits on charges of personal misconduct

The CEO of e-commerce giant, Flipkart, Binny Bansal was to resign after being charged with ‘personal misconduct’ following an investigation report. News agency Reuters reported that Bansal’s decision to resign was a sequel to an independent investigation done on behalf of Flipkart and Walmart after an allegation of “serious personal misconduct” reported the agency although Bansal has denied the allegation.

Spider man creator dies at 95

The creator of popular comic Spider-man and Iron Man Stan Lee, 95, died on Monday. Lee was also a co-creator of Marvel Comics, was born in Manhattan , was earlier known as Stanley Martin, was also co-creating many other comic characters like Iron Man, Thor and Doctor Strange, had once went for an appearance in a films including The Avenger.

It has been decided by the Puri temple administration that the rate chart on Mahaprasad sale shall be introduced after the month of Kartika. This was clarified by the the chief administrator of  Lord Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) Pradeepta Mohapatra on Tuesday. He said that the rate chart for Mahaprasad will be given a final shape after the holy month of Kartika.

Singer Chitta Jena is no more

The popular Odia singer of yester-years Chitta Jena is no more. Jena  died yesterday in a private hospital after a prolonged illness. A melodious voice has been silenced for all the times to come. A probe has uncovered the dirty secret behind the killing of the Tiger  in the Debrigarh sanctuary last month. This hair-raising scheme had ten people behind it who made the entire scheme, trapped the tiger, killed it and then chopped off his paws, teeth and whiskers before they buried the carcass in the forest.  It was executed under the nose of the Forest department  but the latter could not get any smell of it.
